What is Aliens Fireteam Elite about?
In Aliens Fireteam Elite, you play as a Colonial Marine – just like in the movie, Aliens. And, just like those poor marines, you have to try to stay alive as swarms of Xenomorphs come at you from all angles. Seriously, they’re like a crowd at a free t-shirt giveaway.
But, you’re not just taking on mindless aliens. There are 11 different types of Xenomorphs that’ll come at you. They’re at different stages of evolution, so you’ll be (ahem) facing Facehuggers to full-grown Praetorians. And, they’re smarter than the dress code at a wedding.
Each enemy has its own level of intelligence that it’ll use to stalk you, evade you, outsmart you, ambush you, and try to eat you for dinner or use you as a cosy little nest. They’ll be scrambling across the ceilings, flooding through doors and vents, and hiding in the darkness like emo kids, all just to get a piece of you and your team.
If this is something you wouldn’t be into, it’s up to you to try to survive at all costs. You’ll need to work strategically, move as quickly and quietly as you can, and find cover. And, of course, you’ll need to shoot more guns than an excited Texan.

Is Aliens Fireteam Elite single player?
Nope, thank goodness.
This game is a third-person co-operative shooter. It’s you and two other players – either online players or AI characters. You can choose from five different classes of marine to help you take on the aliens, so pick your partners wisely.
You get to choose from five classes of marine, being Gunner, Demolisher, Technician, Doc, and Recon. These marines all have their own, unique talents, so choose wisely.
You’ll also get to customise your firepower. With over 30 weapons available, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to perforating extra-terrestrials. But, you can also make use of over 70 mods and attachments to make sure that your fireteam is, in fact, elite.

The basis of the game is survival. So, shoot down swarm after swarm of Xenomorphs and other enemies that come at you. But, it’s not just a plain shoot-‘em-up. You’ll play through four campaigns with unique storylines that tie into the Alien universe.
Is Aliens Fireteam Elite canon
Yes, it is canon. The storyline is designed to fit into the Alien universe and makes use of environments, weapons, and even clothing that you know well from the movies.
The plot of Fireteam Elite takes place 23 years after the events of the original trilogy. You join the Colonial Marines of the UAS Endeavour, battling for your life in a story that expands on the original blockbusters.

Can you play as an alien in Aliens Fireteam Elite?
No, you’ll be part of the fireteam.
If you want to play as a Xenomorph, check out Aliens vs Predator. In this 2010 first-person shooter, you can play as either a Xenomorph, a Predator, or a Colonial Marine (if you’re a sucker for punishment).
