Star Wars fans have been crying out for an Obi-Wan movie for years, but it’s never quite happened. Now, thanks to Disney Plus being an awesome channel for enlarging the Star Wars galaxy, there is finally a series. Check out this short guide to the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, where we’ll cover:

Obi-Wan Kenobi release date UK
Obi-Wan Kenobi releases on May 27th in the UK. It’ll be exclusive to Disney+ and will have six parts, which will release weekly on the streaming service.
We’re not sure about the running time of each episode, but we’re expecting them to be around the 45-minute mark. That being said, rumours circulating around this show say that certain episodes could run as long as 80 minutes. But we’ll take that with a pinch of salt.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Plot
The Obi-Wan Kenobi plot promises to be really well woven into the whole Star Wars saga. It’ll have to be, after all, for everything to keep making sense.
When Episode III left off, Obi-Wan and Anakin had just had a showdown amidst a volcano that made a stadium rock show look tame. And, when they meet in Episode IV, we get the impression that they haven’t seen each other since that showdown.
But, that is open to interpretation. We just know that since their last battle, Vader has become very powerful. We don’t know for sure that their last battle was on Mustafar. That being said, when Vader says, ‘I was but a learner…’ surely he meant he was a padawan. Could you still call him a learner 10 years later?
Well, we’ll see.
As you’ve probably figured out from our questions fired into the ethos, this series takes place 10 years after the duel on Mustafar. Obi-Wan has made a home on Tatooine so he can watch over Luke Skywalker.
We know that Obi-Wan will encounter the Empire’s agents who are hunting him, hoping to eliminate the last remining Jedi. But, will he actually come face to face (or face to mask) with Darth Vader? It looks that way from the trailer, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Cast

So, most importantly, Ewan McGregor will return as Obi-Wan. After Episodes I, II, and III, this will be his fourth outing as Obi-Wan. And, we’re looking forward to seeing him as a slightly older version of the character, somewhere in between the fresh-faced padawan and the Alec Guinness retired Jedi that we see in Episode IV.
Also, no spoiler here, because it’s well known that Hayden Christensen will appear as Anakin Skywalker, now in his full-blown Darth Vader form.
We’re also looking to seeing the cast fleshed out by some amazing actors like Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O-Shea Jackson Jr, Sung Kang, Simone Kessell (literally, like the Kessel run), and Benny Safdie.
